Aigaforum 12/23/2007: - The Tigray Disabled Veteran Association (TDVA) delegates touring the USA were hosted to a warm fund raising reception in San Jose California. The delegates, Alem G/meskel, Atsbeha Aregawi, Asmelash W/selassie who became disabled themselves during the long and arduous struggle of the TPLF were very appreciative by the warm reception. Aite Asmelash W/selassie chairman of TDVA gave a brief introduction of his organization and the story behind his organization’s formation to the over 200 guests in attendance. After listening to the Chairman introduction and after realizing that these brothers and sisters of ours who gave it all were only asking a helping hand to be able to be independent once and for all, audience members were in no mood to ask any questions Speakers simply passed their heart felt thank you messages. The event raised close to 40 thousand dollars in cash and pledges. Artist Abebe, Aziz Wedi Shuk and Kebrom were at their best entertaining the audience. Abebe’s old time patriotic songs and Aziz’s deep voice delighted audience until 2AM. |
